Incoming Freshman - Football Announcement

Hello Class of 2028,

I want to welcome you to the Mustang family and wish you the best of luck, as your high school experience is set to begin. If you’re interested in joining our program, please review some important details/dates:

  • Football is a NO-CUT sport at Pioneer – but you will constantly hear us say, “Coaches don’t cut you from the team, you will cut yourself.”

    Some examples include:

    • Unexcused/excessive missed practices

    • Unsatisfactory grades

    • Poor attitude towards teammates, coaches and/or teachers

  • With our NO-CUT policy, comes no official “tryout” period.
    • We will have a 5-week summer program (June 3rd – July 25th) which will build conditioning/stamina, introduce our team’s offensive/defensive schemes and prepare players for our 1st official pre-season practice on Aug 9th in gear.
    • While our summer program is not mandatory, any missed time will cause players to fall behind and force them to catch up when they return.

  • All players will need to complete an Athletic Participation packet, which requires a sports physical. Paperwork will need to be completed by Aug 1st to receive gear.

Go Mustangs! Go BIG Blue!!!!
