School Committees
School Site Council
Pioneer’s School Site Council (SSC) helps develop and approve the annual SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement) and Budget. The council board is comprised of parents, teachers, students and the principal. Each is elected by their peers to serve as representatives for a two-year term. The school plan for state and federally funded programs is reviewed, then monitored and evaluated for results. In addition, the council analyzes the use of Supplemental and Site Flex funds to support target populations and reviews student achievement data. To gain a broader understanding of the Pioneer school environment, the SSC receives reports from DELAC (District English Learners Advisory Council) and parent-run organizations (Foundation, PPAA and PTSA) meetings. Once a month, the School Site Council meets on the third Thursday at 3:30pm (9/19, 10/17, 1/16, 3/20, and 5/15). The public is welcome to attend by clicking on the link found in the Principal’s newsletter. If you have any questions or suggestions for the program, please email Mr. Craycroft, Principal
SELAC - School English Learners Advisory Council
The SELAC is an excellent opportunity to come together to get to know other families and school staff, learn about the school’s services, and offer recommendations to the school regarding English Learner services. Please contact the school office, 408-535-6310, to get more information.
What is SELAC?
The School English Learner Advisory Committee (SELAC) members are Pioneer High School parents and educators interested in improving the education of Pioneer students who are English language learners (EL). The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) members are representatives from each school’s English Learner Advisory Committee (SELAC). The purpose of SELAC is to advise school administrators and staff in the development of the school plan for English Learners. Monthly meetings are held at Pioneer High School Media Center (Library).
